Dani Alves has given his verdict on Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Speaking on Bola da Vez, the right-back was asked about the two best players in the world.
As usual, Alves didn't mince his words, saying: "Messi is much better than Cristiano Ronaldo. Messi has influence on the play, and Cristiano - no. Messi is influential, plays and assists. Messi has a divine gift. Cristiano['s talent] is work. We have our fights but I admire him.
"He's a guy with a lot of dedication, and competitive. There are things that I don't admire, because I play for the team. I think my team is more important than me. I think a bit of what matters goes by, which is the collective. So much so that they criticised us during the celebtation of titles while he celebrated the Pichichi."
